For fans of Mott The Hoople, Mr. Needs needs no introduction; he is a legend in his own lunchtime, so to speak. His knowledge of anything and everything connected with popular music through the decades seems almost biblical; I have no doubt that this is the reward he has earned (or the price he must pay) for having worked in close contact with legendary musicians in his life.

Kris is a jovial raconteur that reels off tales - that many would envy - like there's no tomorrow; no surprise, then, that he also contributes to music publications. He's only half the story, though - and after his first hour of hosting, the audience get to hear his wife Michelle, whose love of music is possibly unrivalled amongst those of 'the fairer sex'.

This combination of Kris and Michelle serves up what can only be described as the most educational introduction to funk music that you will ever experience; it certainly delivered new sounds to my ears - sounds that I would never have heard (as an ordinary listenener of music) otherwise. Tune in and you will get to hear tracks - alongside old favourites - that most people (excluding die-hard record collectors) would regard as obscure, to say the least.

For your own sake, do it - tune in and have a listen. I can almost guarantee that you will find no better way of spending two hours on a Sunday afternoon. Got no PC or Laptop?
